How to Appear Taller in a Midi Skirt

Happy first day of October! I can’t believe October is here already, but I’m loving the colors of the leaves that are changing already. It’s so pretty and accents my fall looks, like today’s burgundy midi skirt! I’ve had people tell me before, “I wish I could wear midi skirts, I’m not tall enough.” I’m here to tell you today, you can! Fashion is so often creating illusions to make you look your best. You don’t need long legs to rock a midi skirt. Read on for three tips to appear taller in a midi skirt.

Tip #1: Wear a form fitting shirt or tuck it in.

Immediately this creates a higher waist which translates to a longer leg line.

Tip #2: Where a cropped jacket or one with a tailored fit.

Not only will you might need one with cooler weather coming, but wearing a jacket will bring more focus to the top and less away from your shorter legs (if you have them). I chose to wear my fitted denim jacket that is cropped in the back to create the illusion of legs for days.

Tip #3: Give your flats a rest and wear heels to give more height.

If you don’t want to go for your stiletto heels, another option is to wear a neutral colored shoe. Pointed toe heels are your best bet. I chose to wear my ankle boots for a fall look. Although ankle boots have tendencies to make your legs appear shorter, the tan color brings length all the way to the tip of my toe.

Hope you enjoyed my tips! Please leave a comment below if these tips helped you or share how you like to style your midi skirts.

Keep smiling!

I hope you try some of the tips! Also, even being tall, I’ve found some midi skirts to be too long and I’ve rolled a midi skirt a couple times so that it hits exactly where I want it. You could always try that too!
