I always seem to draw my inspiration for putting together outfits from one piece of clothing I’m in the mood to wear. I look in my closet and there is usually at least one item that grabs me. Most of the time it is a color or style I think would be perfect for my day or event. Maybe I’m in the mood to wear jeans or the color pink is particularly captivating. Other times it’s simply a pair of shoes. Whether working from the top down or the button up, I eagerly plan the rest of my outfit from that special piece hanging around in my closet. Now generally, I choose my outfits and then select the perfect purse to match at the end, but this was a time I selected the purse first. You have to start somewhere, right? This is an outfit that occurred from such inspiration.
This lovely little Urban Expressions handbag from DSW was tucked away in my closet and had not been used in quite some time. While doing a little tidying up and organizing my purses one day, I realized this bag would have to be my next item for inspiration! I was so glad I did, because it inspired this outfit of simplicity and a soft neutral palette.
The peep toe slingback heels were a must to add to the look, giving it a variety of textures and neutral tones perfect to complement the denim jeans. Finally, the gold chain and gem on the purse inspired me to wear gold jewelry and gem stones. Thankfully I had the perfect Matterial Fix teardrop labradorite cuff from my Rocksbox!
Thanks for reading! Where do you draw your inspiration from when pulling together outfits? I’d love to hear it!
Keep smiling!

I would have to say my children! I pick out clothing that reminds me of them.
Carrie,
I love that response! I can’t wait to have kids of my own someday and be inspired by them!
Thanks for stopping by!
