Two Trending Spring Essentials Every Girl Needs

Today I’m talking about two popular trends this spring season – mini bags and fit and flare dresses. Worn separately or together they each have something special to offer in your spring wardrobe. There’s no question that spring is my favorite season. I love the transition from a cold dark winter to warmer and brighter days. There’s so much hope to be found knowing that something once seemingly dead can bring forth so much beauty and life. It encourages me to observe how similar it is to my own circumstances in life that seem so hopeless. I can’t think of spring without thinking of hope and that fills me with so much joy from life’s promises! Definitely, something to smile about!

Mini Bags

Perhaps my favorite part about mini bags is it has me thinking of what’s actually necessary to get me through my day. By redefining what my essentials are, I find that I don’t need a large bag to carry around a bottomless bag of who knows what. It seems like the bigger the bag, the more often I fill it with things I don’t really need.

Mini bags are the perfect solution because they force you to decide on what you really need through your day and be satisfied with just a few things! Definitely a minimalist point of view and it’s so refreshing not to carry around the extra weight — that’s what spring is all about!

Fit and Flare Dresses

What better way to kick off spring than with a floral fit and flare dress! This trend is so popular because the style looks great on so many women. It is a very flattering fit as it defines the waist. One of my favorite things about fit and flare dresses is they transition well from day into night. Whether you are wearing it to work, having brunch with your friends, or on a date, it will get you through the spring in feminine and flirty style.

This look is amazing! I love that dress; one of my favorite dresses of all time is a fit and flare and I am SO excited to be able to wear it post partum again. I think you’re right, they truly accentuate every body type…I even worse them when I was 40 weeks pregnant and felt great then.

Thank you Lauren! You are completely right and I love that you wore them when pregnant and felt great! 🙂

Thanks Yuka! Mini Bags are totally worth the “mini” investment 🙂

    • April 8, 2016 / 2:12 am

Thanks Kait! Isn’t this trend the best!? I also love how it makes designer bags much more affordable 🙂

YES TO BOTH OF THESE! I’m working hard on finding a fit and flare dress. I just got an adorable one in my last Stitch Fix but it was just a tiny bit too tight in the chest, so I had to send it back. I was so bummed!

    • April 8, 2016 / 2:12 am

Awww bummer! Hopefully they can find you one that fits better! They are just to cute not to have one! 🙂

    • April 8, 2016 / 2:13 am

It’s so good to know what colors work for you! Definitely love bold colors myself!

Totally! Trial and error plus honest friends. (and my mom haha she holds nothing back)

This look is amazing! I always have too much stuff for a mini bag!

    • April 8, 2016 / 2:13 am

Haha I carry a lot of stuff too, but I love how it forces me to consolidate! So refreshing!

I wish I could love these trends. I always need a larger purse with me to fit everything I need in it, even though I should downsize to help my back. I wish I was a dress girl, but I’m not – mostly because I’m too short and they never fit me right. You look perfect though!

    • April 8, 2016 / 2:14 am

Aww thanks for the compliments Summer! And that’s OK that the trends don’t fit your lifestyle! You make your style work and it’s beautiful! 🙂

Thanks Janna! I’m totally into both as well! I love that mini bags make the designer prices more affordable! Hope you get another 😉
