Transitioning to Your Spring Wardrobe with A Duster Cardigan

As I transition from my winter to spring wardrobe I find it important to look for items that I can layer. In Seattle, the mornings are still cooler here and by the afternoons I’m breaking out my sunglasses and ditching my coat. That’s why cardigans can be the perfect addtion to your spring wardrobe. Duster cardigans are one of my most recent obsessions and I have already found so many ways to style it. This one in particular is unique because of the sleeves, or lack thereof. Even though it’s sleeveless, it looks great not only with longsleeves like I’m wearing, but also short-sleeve tanks or tees. Versatility is imperative when looking for a new item to add to your closet.

Generally before I purchase anything, one of the first questions I ask is, “How many outfits can you think of to combine it with?” If I can’t think of more than one right from the start, chances are it may be better to pass on it. If you’re not creative with coming up with items, it’s also fun to Pinterest the item. Have you tried this? You may be pin-spired and immediately realize you have much more in your wardrobe that will already go with that item! Score!

When I was shopping at Nordstrom Rack a couple of weeks ago, this particular one caught my eye. Have I worn things like it before? Well, no, but I took a chance to try it on and I’m so glad I did because it definitely felt like me. Sometimes you just have to try on things that you like regardless if you don’t think it’s your style. If it appeals to you, then I saw it IS your style! Don’t be shy to try new things, even if it’s only in the dressing room to start with.

To add some boho chic vibes to my duster cardigan (as well as avoid a hair malfunciton from the spring rain, haha) I paired it with my floppy hat and Mirina Collections necklace. And of course I had to add my classic white pumps and Charming Charlie Rose Purse to keep the feminine feel of my style! Gotta keep true to who you are at all times!

Can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I got these white pumps that inspired me to start my blog. If you’re looking for a similar afforable pair, Nordstrom has some Charles David ones on sale right now for only $75. Although personally, I’m thinking it’s time for a pair of So Kate Christian Louboutins as a Blogiversary gift. What do you think? 😉

I so agree with not getting something if you see that you won’t be able to create more outfits with it.
And I love Pinterest! It has helped me with many an outfit.

I remember those white shoes! I’m definitely an OG follower of your page. Love your tips for buying clothes because usually the only question I ask is “did I bring my wallet?” Hahaha

^^That’s a good question to ask too! But I’m pretty sure my wallet never leaves me at the mall haha!

That would make sense. I just am terribly lazy and often don’t even bring mine. Then I have to ask my husband for money/credit card . Hahaha

Thank you my friend! That’s one thing I love about jeans and pointed toe heels! They make your legs look so long! And then add a long cardigan on top of that and you have even more length! Not that I need more haha 😉

So cute, Molly! Agree, if you can’t wear it more than one way then not worth spending money on it. Oh so these are the pumps that led to this beautiful blog, totally go for a pair of Louboutins. P.S: Crushing over the necklace, love Mirina collections.
