It’s the end of August and nothing but wanting summer to stay yet fall to come has been on my mind. I’m torn between a battle of two seasons I love so much and the only thing getting me through is the ability to layer, layer, layer. My friends, you know I am all about timeless and feminine style, but there are certain times a girl just has to be comfortable. A weekend full of running errands in the city is definitely one of those times, however, that doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice style. I’m a firm believer that it’s possible to be both comfortable and stylish for the weekend. Today I’m sharing with you my six favorites I can’t live without for my weekend wardrobe. If you’re looking to update your weekend wardrobe or needs some weekend outfit inspiration this is a cheat sheet you don’t want to miss!
Weekend Wardrobe Cheat Sheet
-
White t-shirt
If you don’t have one in your closet, you need one now! This is such a timeless piece and pairs with multiple items in your closet and is great for layering. Come fall, you’ll be thankful you have a white tee to layer under cardigans and flannels. If you’re looking for the perfect white tee or need to update your wardrobe with a fresh one, I suggest this one from HER. Boutique. Feel free to use my discount code “missmolly20” to get 20% off.
-
Denim
Denim, as we all know, is a closet staple. I have multiple and it seems like I can’t get enough of them! My favorite kind of denim is skinny jeans and these new distressed jeans give me an extra edge. (My dad laughs that I pay extra for holes in my jeans, but I embrace the distressed jeans trend anyway!) This fit for me gives my legs that sky-high look and pairs well with both flats and heels. Ultimately, the thingI love about denim is that it is so versatile to every body type. There are numerous styles out there from boyfriend jeans to flares and there is always a choice for everyone. Finding a pair that makes you look and feel confident is all that matters!

White tennis shoes
I will fully admit that I am a heels girl all the way, but there are times when wearing heels just won’t cut it. For a chic but casual look, my go-to pair of shoes is my white tennies. They are comfortable enough to run errands in, but stylish enough to pair with many of my weekend outfits.
-
Tote
I’m not sure what I would do without a weekend tote because it is essential for carrying all of my miscellaneous belongings which I seem to acquire so easily while out and about. Did I mention it’s the perfect size bag for carrying my flowers?
-
Blanket Scarf
Fall is just around the corner and that means I’m starting to think about layering whenever possible. A scarf is definitely a go-to layering piece and can instantly elevate your weekend style with just one accessory. One of my favorite style tricks is tying my scarf around my tote. You still get the pop of color or fun print like this striped blanket scarf and it’s readily available for when a cool breeze passes your way.
-
Chic Hoodie
I know what you’re thinking — A chic hoodie? Is that even possible? I’m here to tell you yes and YES! My favorite place to get hoodies that are completely stylish is from Evy’s Tree. This chic hoodie that has just released is going to be your new favorite for fall! Not only am I obsessing over the large pockets and hood, but the ultra soft and thick fabric is definitely going to keep me both warm and comfortable for years to come. For sizing reference, I’m wearing an XS — the oversized style makes it perfect for layering in the cooler days to come and you can finally get it on pre-order! All I need now is some warmer weather to come so I can sip on my pumpkin spice lattes while wearing it!
I’d love to hear from you! What are your must-have items for the weekend?
Keep smiling!

Girl thank you! I refused to get white sneakers for the longest time and then I finally did and realized how many great ways there is to wear them!
I love this outfit. It’s so casual looking, but you still look so put together 🙂
I need to add a pair of white tennis shoes to my wardrobe – I don’t have nearly enough shoes!

Thank you! I don’t do casual a lot, but when I do I make sure it still is put together as best as I can. Totally get a pair of white sneaks! You’ll find yourself wearing them often!
I feel you on the whole, “heels first but tennis depending on the situation.” That’s how I feel about shoes too. You have your preference – for aesthetic or feel-good reasons who knows – but sometimes it’s about practicality! I’m considering a sort of sophisticated sneaker 🙂

I knew you would agree with me! I loooooove heels, but sometimes they are just not practical. That’s where having a reliable pair of tennies comes in! Hope you find some you love!
This is great! That hoodie is totally adorable and looks so comfy! You look adorable!
