Seattle was so lucky last week to have record breaking highs for April. For three days in a row we had over 80 degree weather and I was loving every second of it. It made me excited to finally get to wear my spring dresses and be ready to enjoy the amazing sunshine! When searching for the perfect spring dress there are a few things I look for before it will meet the criteria for the “perfect” spring dress – I’m talking beyond the style or fit of the dress. Read on to discover the top three things I think can make or break the “perfect” criteria.
Versatility
Beyond the style of a dress, I can’t stress enough how important it is to consider versatility. I love to look for dresses that I know will combine well with other pieces in my wardrobe. For example, I know that this dress can easily be layered with a moto jacket or a jean jacket. That immediately extends wearability so that I feel like I am wearing a different outfit every time.
I also look for dresses that have the ability to be styled in a variety of ways especially in the way of accessories. For this dress in particular, I knew how fun it would be to mix prints by adding this striped clutch. Can I just say how much I love print mixing?! It allows for such a fun and unexpected surprise. So fun that I chose to stick to a nude heel to let the contrast of the mixed prints in the clutch be the star.
Length
Among the top things that I consider when looking for the perfect spring dress is the length. Before settling on this dress (which by the way is on super sale right now) I must have tried on about 6 different spring dresses that were all too short. Can you say #TALLGIRLPROBLEMS. Regardless, finding the right length isn’t just something that tall girls experience. Am I right ladies?! Every girl should be given the chance to find the perfect length for her body type and be ready to face the day in the self-assurance she deserves.
Color
When I posted a sneak peek of these photos on my Instagram I received many comments how this color of dress is “my” color. And they’re right! Not only is cobalt blue one of my favorite colors at the moment, it is one of the colors in my color palette that looks best on my skin tone. It’s definitely a color I love to wear all year round and feel confident in. By wearing colors that make you look the best, you too will be able to conquer your day with confidence and smiles! What better way to go through your day than by wearing something you look and feel great in?!
Keep smiling!

Gorgeous. I’m a huge fan of print mixing as well, and want to do a post about that soon!!! I’m tall as well so it’s always a struggle finding a dress that isn’t too short.
Seriously you are so cute! And that dress is perfect 🙂 I love the color, print, style, everything. If it was a tiny bit longer I think I would love it even more though.
You do look killer in cobalt blue. Love the clutch! I just realized you’re from Seattle. Do you know Jesica from Classic in Gray? 😮 That’s the only other Seattle blogger I know…I think.

So pretty! It reminds me of a period movie for some reason. Maybe it is your adorbs hair and sunglasses. Love it!
I’m totally loving that color on you. Definitely in that “perfect” palette! You look so beautiful <3

Cobalt blur is my favourite colour too! But when I was doing a little research on what suits my skin tone, cobalt blue doesn’t fall into that category *sob*. I still love it though.

This dress is so perfect for spring! And I totally get tall girl problems too. Everything is always super short which makes finding the perfect one even more magical. Haha.
These photos are so darling!! That dress was meant for you! Love 🙂
Love that color! Beautiful pics too!
Finding a dress long enough is ALWAYS my biggest problem! Curse these long legs of mine! I love the color and pattern of this dress, and you are right, this piece can be worn so many ways! I think people automatically assume that prints can’t be changed up, but they can!
That is such a cute dress. I love how it’s heart printed & love the blue.
Every color looks gorgeous on you Molly but blue is definitely on top! Love this dress on you and really like how you styled it..Length of the dress is definitely a problem for me as well… but short girl problem 😀 every dress is so long!! haha.. So glad Seattle is getting some sunshine and you are having a great time 🙂

I think you look good in every color, but blue is surely a winner, as it is my favorite too.
I like how you have styled it with the clutch and nude heels.
Great to know so many new fellow bloggers as well.
Hope you enjoy more of such warm weather!

Clothes & Quotes
I LOVE a great dress! They are definitely my favorite things to shop for and to wear when the weather is warm! This one is very cute!
I’m such a fan of mixing prints, and you do that beautifully with the dress and clutch! Brava! I also have a hard time finding just the right length dress. I have shorter legs, so I’m so easily overwhelmed by too much fabric. My solution? The midi- love them!
I’m loving everything about this dress!! Simply gorgeous!

Beautiful, and you’re right about the cobalt ;-). Also right about the length thing. At 6’0 the struggle is real!
What a cute dress!
OK, not only do I LOVE that dress (totally my colour/style) but I own that stella and dot purse already! One of my favesies because it is so versatile.
