I love red and black together. So much in fact my wedding colors were white, black and red. There are so many ways to play with this color combination without coming across as a punk rocker chick, which was not a look I wanted. What I was going for in creating a look with black and red was sophistication with an edge.
I wore this dress for the first time last week to a lake side dinner and fell in love with it. There are so many things I love about this dress! The key hole detailing, the surplice neckline, the sash, the tie-back neckline, the silky feeling fabric and of course the floral abstract print. It takes floral to a whole new level with the printed blocking of the fabric. There are so many details and just I can’t get enough of them! I purchased it on sale while spending some Kohl’s Cash a couple of weeks ago, and just saw that this dress is on clearance at Kohl’s. It comes in three other solid colors, which are all bright and beautiful.
A year ago you wouldn’t have caught me in an off the shoulder dress or any style similar to this, and here I am loving it! I was heading to the check out line in Nordstrom Rack and there this dress was, slightly visible, but stunning in all its little details. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even bother trying it on. I prayed it would fit and promptly made my way to purchase it before I was drawn to anything else. This ended up being a decision I did not regret!
For my birthday I received a Kate Spade Cedarstreet Elissa handbag. It is the perfect everyday handbag. The color “clocktower” is such a great neutral handbag that can go with almost anything. It has been inspiring me to wear more neutral colors lately, which I was always afraid washed my skin tone out. I created this outfit inspired by this beautiful handbag.
Hi everyone! For my first blog post I want to share a little about myself.
My name is Molly and I have always loved expressing myself through my style. I remember when I was an early teenager, my friends were taking a questionnaire and when asked whose style they most admired, they listed me! I never considered myself to have outstanding style nor have I ever strived to be somebody I’m not in a world of amazing fashion. I just love feeling put-together. I love it when people ask about what I’m wearing, because I am excited to share it. That’s why I started my blog. I want to share my passion and hope to inspire others as much as other fashionistas inspire me. I’ve had others define my style as timeless, classy, girly, sophisticated, and elegant, but I’ll let you be the judge of that for yourself!
