Happy New Years Eve! As I reflect on my year I am so amazed at how the year has turned out. If you would have told me last new years eve that I would be in the place I am today, I would have thought you were crazy! Me? A fashion blogger? Only in my dreams. But yet here I am, blogging and sharing my own style with the world. That little name, Style Miss Molly, was birthed one day when I finally decided to quit dreaming about it and just do it — like a girl boss. That name has taken me a long way and I have ended up being inspired in return by so many other fashionistas. It’s been an amazing journey. Today I’m sharing with you three ways to take your dreams and create resolutions that will become a reality.
Last year on New Years Eve, I was thinking about where I wanted the next year to take me. I was determined to make 2015 better than ever. As I closed my eyes and envisioned what I wanted my life to look like, it was with a smile on my face doing something I love. I put on my laptop a background that said “2015 is my year.” Did I know at that time that I would be a fashion blogger? Well, no. But I made a resolution to make 2015 the best year ever by committing to do what makes me happy.
2. Stop dreaming.
As my husband would say quoting Harvey Specter from one of our favorite TV shows Suits, “I don’t have dreams. I have goals.” Years ago I had the idea of being a fashion blogger, but I never made it a goal. I never thought I would make it in the world of fashion. It wasn’t until I finally threw fear out of the window and decided to fully pursue it 100% that it was no longer a dream but a goal. Seriously, just do it.
3. Don’t give up.
We’ve all done it before. We’ve made resolutions and not had the follow through to make it last. I’ll be honest, that’s been me in the past. There have been so many times this year where I just flat out wanted to give up. This thing called fashion blogging is hard work. If you’re a fashion blogger too, you know exactly what I mean. It’s quite harder than I could have ever expected. Finding someone to hold you accountable to stick with your goal is worth it. I know I couldn’t have done it without the support of my husband.
Thank you for all the love you have given me in 2015! I am so grateful for each subscription, Facebook follow, Instagram like, comment with a kind word of encouragement, and compliment I have received from you. Your support means everything to me! I’m so excited to make 2016 even better than ever! Happy New Year!
