Hello dear friends! It’s Tip Tuesday and I have some awesome tips for you today! I’m sharing with you a skirt I scored for $16 at an end of the summer J.Crew sale – I’m all about those! The only problem was that I couldn’t wait to wear it and didn’t want to put it away for the fall/winter wardrobe switch. As I gazed into my closet and searched for ways to wear it while still embracing fall fashion, I found this lovely plaid shirt. I thought it was the perfect fit to bring a little fall to this otherwise summery skirt. Come to think of it, so did my beautiful friend Julianna over at Blush & Camo! I ended up being so glad I didn’t have to put away that summer white! Read on for three tips to wearing your summery whites this fall!
1. Pair it with fall pieces.
Adding articles of clothing that remind you of fall will immediately show that your look is fall ready. For me it was wearing plaid, but there are so many other things that represent fall fashion and would be perfect to throw in the mix. Here are some options you might try:
- Boots
- Flannels
- Scarves
- Fall colors
- Sweaters
- Vests
- Cardigans
- Ponchos
- Fur
- Leather
- Leggings
2. Be creative.
There are so many ways to continue wearing your white clothing and shouldn’t be limited to a plaid top tucked into a white skirt like I showed. Have fun with it and play around with what looks best to you! Here are some other ideas I’d recommend to wear plaid:
- Let it hang open with a tee underneath
- Pair it with white jeans
- Wear it over a dress
- Tie your plaid shirt in a knot
- Tie the shirt around your waist
- Or ditch the plaid and try another fall piece like mentioned above!
3. Be bold.
This post is meant to be a how to, but let me remind you there are no real rules in fashion! Personal style is about what you want to wear, not what someone else tells you that you can get away with. Take these tips as an effort to challenge your thinking in how you wear white this fall and inspire you to try new things. Remember to make fearless choices and keep smiling with confidence! If you are bold and stay true to yourself, you’re bound to look beautiful!
