Back to Basics: Classic Must-Haves

Hi my beautiful friends! You may have noticed I was away from blogging for a week… how much I have missed you! I feel so excited to be back on my feet after being sick for a few weeks, which means I can finally be back to my blogging and the typical “dressing up” routine. Honestly, the worst part about being sick for me is that I don’t get to wear cute outfits that make me feel good! After finally getting to wear something other than my Lululemon yoga pants (seriously, I live in these after work), I decided to stick to the basics and wear timeless pieces that always make me feel great. Today I’m sharing three classic must-haves in my wardrobe that I cannot live without.stylemissmolly_8302_blog

1. Trench Coat

I could not live without my trench coat, especially with all the rainy weather we have in Seattle. It is such a classic piece that will never go out of style and always brings sophistication to an outfit. Because a trench coat is a classic piece that you will be wearing for years to come, it would be a great idea to find one you love and splurge a little. The one I have is from Express and I got a great deal on it using sales and coupons. I love it because it is shorter and thinner for Spring and Fall, although I’m in the process of finding a thicker and longer one so that it will be more wearable in the winter. Tan is the classic color, but this piece looks great in so many other colors too!

2. White Button-Down Shirt

This classic piece can be worn alone or layered under a sweater. I find that with my basic and classic items I have multiple of them. This one is no different. I have a shorter and longer button-down shirt so that I can style each differently. This one is great with leggings because of the long length, which I love! Pair it with some heeled boots and your favorite necklace and you are all set for a classic fall look! Shop my exact necklace here and use code “missmolly” to get 20% site-wide!

3. Black Leggings or Skinny Jeans

The final classic must-have in my wardrobe is my black leggings or skinny jeans. I find that these are something that I wear at least once a week, especially in the Fall and Winter. I love to style them with boots and cozy sweaters! I find it important to look for thicker leggings, especially if I am wearing them as pants. Personally, I typically choose skinny jeans for the times my shirts stop at my hips and save leggings for when my shirt brings a little more coverage. I love them both and find myself never living without these items in my closet!

Thank you for complimenting my hair! That’s part of the reason why I love wearing hats to hide the frizz from all the rain!

Thank you Ellie! I agree that dressing up black leggings can be a challenge. Taking timeless pieces and a statement necklace can definitely help with that!

This combination of a statement necklace and a classic white shirt fits you so beautifully! I also love how this gorgeous hat frames your pretty face! Perfection!
