About Me

People don’t want perfect, they just want real, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Style Miss Molly.

Every article on this website is dedicated to the strong women of this world – the fearless, the driven, and the beautifully imperfect.

I love reaching the hearts of women and showing them that imperfections are part of what makes each of us uniquely beautiful from the inside out. Style is a creative way to confidently express ourselves, so you’ll get tons of style inspiration along with encouragement for living a passionate and intentional lifestyle. I’ll share the real, the honest, and 100% authentic.

SO WHO IS THE SMILING FACE BEHIND THIS INSPIRING BLOG?

I’m Molly Lawson – most people call me Miss Molly. Inside of me lies this inherent desire to excel — furthermore, a desire to be perfect. From early on I found great satisfaction in my efforts to achieve perfection. It fueled my early achievements and future goals for myself in such a way that I took pride in my work. I’ve always loved to learn, teach, and dance and I pushed myself to excel in each of those areas.

I danced with my whole heart in a performing dance company in Seattle, graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education, became the youngest teacher in our school at 18, went on to teach kindergarten for 8 years, and started this blog in 2015 to inspire and make an impact on this world.

But what felt like my whole world crashing down (more on that story here), I felt like I couldn’t give anything but 100% myself – the whole, real and imperfect me.

Molly Lawson

I didn’t want to hide behind how people perceive me, I wanted to fearlessly embrace all that I am.

Even amongst the struggle, I made the decision to leave my fulfilling job as a kindergarten teacher to pursue another passion and started writing full time.

I’ve been broken, depressed, anxious, and cried more times than I’ve ever thought possible. I’ve failed, disappointed people, experienced lack of motivation, exhaustion, and a destruction of my self-worth. I’ve even been hospitalized from stress and experienced deep pain from what seemed like complete hopelessness. Why am I telling you all this? Because it’s my story.

What I value:

Authenticity comes first.

Empowering other women.

Quality conversations are about the raw and real.

Listen with empathy.

Above all, be grateful.

My goal is to connect with my readers and share with each other the raw and the vulnerable experiences we each face.

“Courage is contagious. Every time we choose courage, we make everyone around us a little better and the world a little braver.” -Brené Brown

You will find me being completely real and choosing to embrace my imperfections. Perhaps you too share one or more of these struggles, and if that’s the case remember:

You’ve got this.

You are going to be OK.

I am here to support you.

You are not alone.

I am positive and optimistic, but I am not perfect. I, like everyone else, am constantly learning and working on becoming a better person.

I started this blog with the mission of inspiring others, and I hold true to that foundation today.

We are not defined by our shortcomings. We are not born perfect, we are not supposed to be perfect, nor will we ever achieve being perfect. So why strive for it?

Keep being yourself, embrace the reality of your imperfections, and look for the desire to learn and grow — not to be perfect. And please, keep smiling through it all! I know life can be hard at times, but you are valued, loved, AMAZING, and you WILL make it through! Keep showing the world the beauty in your flaws and remember to shine like you are meant to be!
