5 Tips To Save You Money During Holiday Sales

It’s Cyber Monday – one of the most sought after online shopping days for deals and steals. I am a huge online shopper and generally, my Cyber Mondays are filled with browsing websites and finding the best sales. However, like any sale seeker, there is the tendency to not only get swarmed by the vast amount of deals but also forget the priorities of shopping. To ensure you get the best bang for your buck, I’m giving you five tips to save you the most money during holiday sales and a round up of my favorite Cyber Monday sales while they last!
Saving Money During Holiday Sales - Cyber Monday Sales

  1. Think of others first.

This tip may sound silly, but it will save you tons of money in the long run. Black Friday is when I do so much of my Christmas shopping for my friends and family. It saves me tons of money on things I was already planning on buying for Christmas presents.

  2. Look for things you’ve already had your eye on.

Maybe you already have a wish list, but if not you need to create one. By doing this, you will ensure you aren’t giving into the spur of the moment impulse buys. I am much better off in making decisions and getting a good deal when I enter a sale prepared with the things I’ve had my eye on for a while.

  3. Sort your priorities.

Once you have your wish list (for others or for you) prioritize it according to the order of things you want. Maybe it’s been months that you’ve been looking for a pair of over the knee boots, but only a week since you saw that cute crossbody bag. You’re probably better off investing in the over the knee boots and save the purse for another time.

  4. Stick to your budget.

The times I didn’t have a budget were the times I majorly regretted it. I let all the little sales add up and didn’t keep track of how much I had spent. MAJOR MISTAKE. By creating a budget, even if it is a rough estimate, you will be much more apt to find the items worth purchasing without breaking the bank.

  5. Avoid the thrill of the word SALE.

It’s so easy to do, but once we hear the word “sale” we are immediately drawn to all the dollar signs we could be saving. Don’t pay for something that you wouldn’t have purchased full price, just because it is marked down. Instead, find the best deal for quality items that you’re willing to spend your hard earned money on. And to be sure you’re making the best decision, initiate a “power-pause” to really think about what you’re purchasing before you hit that “purchase now” button.

Now, hurry on over to these websites and check out some great sales you won’t want to miss!Saving Money During Holiday Sales - Cyber Monday Sales

Great tips! I always need to make and stick to a list, otherwise I buy tons of stuff I don’t need!

I looooovelovelove how you set this up, Molls! You’re totally right…go in with a budget and a plan and don’t just shop fo’ yo’self! Plus I’ve DEFINITELY found it to be true that the best sales aren’t actually always when you’d think they’d be. J and I bought a TV before Thanksgiving and it was cheaper than the price on Black Friday!!!

Love this! When Black Friday and Cyber Monday rolls around its easy to get lax with our money and give those companies just what they want. You are right it is so important to prioritize and go shopping with a plan, yes even shopping can be organized, because it helps us not over spend. – The Mindful Rise

Yes, great tips! I already bought myself a few too many things on Friday. I definitely got sucked in. I need to refocus on what gifts I need to buy and maybe be brave enough to look at the sales today haha.

  9. November 28, 2016 / 9:15 pm

Definitely some great tips here! I agree 100% it’s so important to buy for others first. I always try to get the majority of my gifts taken care of before I start browsing for myself. That way, I know my budget for myself is already set because I’ve spent on my family and friends previously!

Right on, Molly! Totally agree with your tips… I have made the mistake many many times in the past of not having a budget and coming home to a huge credit card bill, haha.

These are such great tips! I think we all can go a bit overboard sometimes! 😉

  13. December 5, 2016 / 1:23 pm

These are all really good tips! It’s easy to get caught up in spending simply because something is on sale. Making a list of what you actually want/need is key!
