4 Reasons Why You Need a Fit and Flare Dress

Spring is undoubtedly my favorite season. The varied sounds of the birds outside my window in the morning as I wake up, the warm afternoon sunshine, cool breezes that calm the evenings; everything points to summer being just around the corner. There is just so much to love about this season! For spring fashion, I start leaning toward that essential dress I can throw on for a day in the sun. The feminine aspect of a fit-and-flare, as well as the essential spring Gingham print makes this dress the best of both worlds. Read on for 4 reasons why a fit-and-flare dress is a springtime essential.

1. It’s flattering.

You hear that ladies? This is a dress that is extremely flattering on you. Because of the narrowing of the waist, this fit looks amazing on all body types. They hide problem areas and give you a slim, tailored waist. Who doesn’t want that?!

2. It’s easy to wear.

Throw on this dress for the day and you will look effortlessly chic. Whether it’s brunch with the girls or picnic with your significant other, this gingham fit-and-flare will add the perfect springtime look as you go about your day.

3. It’s feminine.

There’s a reason why a fit-and-flare dress will never go out of style. I’m reminded of the housewives from the 50’s who began wearing this style to show off their feminine hourglass figures. Not that I have any desire to live like a 1950’s housewife, but with a dress that looks this good on everyone, you can guarantee it won’t be going out of style.

4. It’s versatile.

One of my requirements for finding the perfect spring dress is versatility. Can you dress it up or down? This gingham print dress will work for numerous occasions. Pair it with a leather jacket for an edgier look, a denim jacket for a more casual look or add a statement necklace and some white pumps to dress it up a bit.

I’d love to hear, where would you wear your Gingham fit-and-flare dress to?

I definitely need a dress like that. I don’t dress nice on a daily basis because I have dogs but I want a comfortable dress that will hide my “fluffy” tummy for networking and business events.

I couldn’t agree more Molly. They are flattering on practically every body shape and can be worn for numerous occasions. Another flattering style is a dress that cinches at the waist with a belt or clasp like the one I styled in this post:

Hope you give it a read and happy holidays!
